Fra i cieli Umbri, dal 22 al 31 luglio 2016, saranno quasi 70 le mongolfiere che si alzeranno in volo prendendo parte al “Sagrantino Italian International Balloon Challenge Cup”.
La competizione, di cui Ralph Shaw ne è l’ideatore e coordinatore, vedrà sfidarsi equipaggi provenienti da tutto il mondo che elevandosi in volo tra i comuni di Montefalco, Gualdo Cattaneo e altre caratteristiche città della ringhiera umbra, tenteranno di aggiudicarsi l’Arnaldo Caprai Prestige Winemaker’s Trophy e regaleranno uno spettacolo gratuito a tutti quelli che in questi giorni terranno gli occhi all’insù.
Ogni mattina, dalle ore 06:30, i partecipanti si levano dal Parco Acquarossa e sorvolano i circostanti vigneti. Uno degli obiettivi della manifestazione è quello di far conoscere i meravigliosi territori umbri osservandoli da una prospettiva totalmente diversa all’insegna del relax, della tranquillità e allo stesso tempo alla scoperta della natura.
Chi riuscirà ad aggiudicarsi le 1000 bottiglie di vino in palio e strappare il titolo al croato Igor Miclousic, vincitore del I° Sagrantino Italian International Challenge Cup?
Ci sarà inoltre un concorso fotografico dove verranno premiate le migliori foto che sapranno catturare i colori più belli che contraddistinguono le mongolfiere.
