Hello,
I’m still alive, and surprisingly it looks like I’m getting fit. It’s not just about my belly, it’s more my way to walk. My left ankle and my shoulder are still a bit sore, but that happens only when I carry the backpack. After cheating for one day, I hiked to Prestatyn and it took 2 days. On the first night I stopped in Aubergele and the second one in Prestatyn. In Aubergele I slept in a farm-camping. As the previous time, the day was warm and sunny and I was prepared for the cold night. My camping neighbour told me that already at 11pm his camper was iced; I actually slept quite well, but all my stuff were totally wet due to the condensation. It tooks 3 hours to dry them.
The biggest problem that I’m facing is that I don’t have a warm place to spend my early morning. I usually go to sleep at 9 pm, sounds granny but I’m tired and outside it’s cold; so I wake up at 6 or 7, and I find myself walking around for an open coffee shop and in themeantime waiting that the wind or sun can dry my tent. I would like to start hiking very early but the season doesn’t help me yet.
For this reason, the second day I left that camp at 11, the sunny had already disappeared but at least I had a nice cup of tea offered by an English gentleman.
For both days the walk follows the promenade of the north Wales beach, always upwind.
When I arrived at destination I had a great gift. The night before I contacted a B&B that gave me the opportunity to camp in the garden for a cheap price, but when I arrived they offered me tea and cake and they let me sleep in a wooden cottage with wood heater, so cozy.
Thanks Mr Malcolm Simpson, Plan Ifan B&B.
